That which we know is a little thing; that which we do not know is immense.
–Pierre-Simon de Laplace
There is someone living my life. And I know nothing about him.

The really big question…
Cosmologists tell us that the universe came about from a singularity, a single point of zero space of infinite mass, and from this single point of nothingness of zero space and infinite mass the universe exploded forth into an event which we call he big bang. Now suddenly we have a new somethingness expanded out in a matter of seconds from a point of former nothingness to eventually form the universe as we know it today.
In a nutshell, from this primordial superheated mass of plasma that exploded out of nothingness, science demands that the laws of physics were formed and that gravity then caused the cooling matter of the newly formed universe to coalesce into stars, planets and galaxies, and as far as we can tell, form an infinite number of them.
Zoom forth to present time, here we sit on a blue water planet orbiting an ordinary sun in the outer suburbs of an ordinary galaxy, just one in an infinite number of galaxies, each containing an almost infinite number of stars. We are part of this creation that came from a point of zero size and infinite mass. WE came from nothing.
Perhaps, like me, you look out into this universe and wonder how it all come about. Science came up with the big bang theory to explain it. When asked what was before the big bang, what do they say? he ancient Hindus believed that giant elephants help up the world. When asked what was holding up the elephants they said it was mud from there on down; it just went on being mud forever. What does science say?
I believe there is more to this universe than meets our earthling eyes, something that quantum physicists are discovering much to their dismay. The more they discover about the fundamental stuff of which the universe is made, the more dismayed they get. Quite literally, what they find does not make sense.
The really big answer…
There is an answer to the really big question. If the queston can be asked, it can be answered. I am seeking the answer. I want to know, myself, firsthand, ‘no bout a doubt it’, how it was that a something sprung forth out of a nothing. How is this possible? We don’t allow it to to happen now in present time. We are told that if it is too good to be true, then it IS to good to be true. Why then do we allow the our universe to have started off that way?
I already know the answer. It is a matter of incredulous belief that I hold. Mathematics and logic (and religion) have sprung forth out of our minds. They are models of the universe, our attempt at understanding the thing that is there in front of us, the thing that we think we are made of. From where has my belief sprung?
We must successfully describe and understand (in mathematical terms) the infinite zero from which this universe has sprung. It is the fundamental understanding. It has nothing to do Prophets and Messiahs; it has everything to so with us.
I don’t ever hope…
to come even close to understanding in mathematical terms the infinite zero point from which the universe has spung.
And that’s it. Bad at maths. Slow study. Forgetful. Dispersed. (Surrounded by entities). A real slow-pacer in actuality. But to hell with it, why should such petty annoyances bother me.
This blog…
therefore, has as its essence the learning process of an apparent slow-pacer attempting the improbable.
What I mean by slow-pacer?
If I had just graduated from school, ahead a couple of years and well supported, I might have made something of myself along the lines stated above. But hey, I have not just graduated from school. I dropped out of school. I have a wife, a job and some years under my belt. And did I mention the fact that I hardly ever finish anything, keep finding and then losing new interests, and mostly live in my head? Well, yeah, minor annoyances.
How Not to Become a Physicist is exactly my life story. If somebody wanted to become a physicst, but for some reason must never become one, he would do pretty much what I have done and continue to do. Maybe I get to fool you all and make something of myself anyway.
I say, frack it all. The truth shall set us free.

Hi!
For my website I’m creating a list of blogs about polyphasic sleep. I’d really like to add your blog to the list. Would you give me your permission to do so?
